As a part of the art exchange programme, between the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Musée des Beaux Arts de Bordeaux an 1826 painting by Eugène Delacroix, the leading French Romantic artist was displayed at LACMA.
The monumental painting, La Grèce sur les ruines de Missolonghi is seldom lent from the Musée des Beaux Arts de Bordeaux. Its exhibition at LACMA allowed a large public to admire the masterpiece by one of the great French artists of the 19th century and a landmark of European art.
